Ffos Las will be Britain's first National Hunt racecourse in 90 years. The Carmarthenshire course will also feature flat racing. The first meeting is scheduled for late June 2009 and I plan to be there.

Wooden Spoon Goes to Scotland

Wales avoided a Six Nations whitewash and acclaimed a new hero today when they closed the tournament with a James Hook inspired 27-18 victory over an England.

Hook, 21, playing at flyhalf in place of injured captain Stephen Jones, scored a try after two minutes and ended with 22 points as Wales avoided a second wooden spoon in four years.

The win, their first in the tournament, was fully-deserved and proved enough to haul them above Scotland on points difference.
